Spring is here and I am looking forward to my next trip to London. Only last year I discovered something that takes place in May, for the last 12 years. Is Chelsea’s annual floral art show complementary alternative, when the streets are transformed with wonderful floral displays created by retailers in the borough, called Chelsea in Bloom.
Last year’s theme was “Summer of Love” inspired by, obviously, the Royal Wedding and the 60’s/70’s cultural revolution. The competition showcased floral displays reflecting the participating retailers’ interpretation of the theme in their own unique style.
Produced by Cadogan in association with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), is transforming the streets of Chelsea for a few days, in May, with breath-taking floral displays.
The annual competition has grown dramatically each year, with Chelsea’s best retailers, restaurants and hotels adorning themselves with creative designs to compete for the coveted awards.
This year Chelsea in Bloom will take place between 20th-25th of May, extending the RHS Chelsea Flower Show into the neighbourhood. But unlike its neighbor, it’s open to the public and doesn’t require a ticket.
One of my many reasons to visit London, on and on. All these pictures are from last year.
